This section is about various, mostly land-based, trips we've taken. See S/V Cats Paw Trips and Logs for trips taken on Cats Paw.
I spent the better part of a month in Indonesia, working on several projects in Jakarta.
In January 2008, I along with a few others from Mercy Corps, travelled to India and Nepal to check out a couple of Phoenix Fund projects. In addition to the trip narrative, there is also slide show about the Manokamana Handmade Paper Factory.
After the visit to India and Nepal, Fred Trullinger, Stephen King, and I travelled to Colombo, Sri Lanka, to teach a business practices class. Unfortunately, I don't have any slides of this stop.
In the late summer of 2006, I went on another Mercy Corps fact finding trip, this time to look at some Phoenix Fund projects in Mongolia.
On the way home from Turkey, I went to Palestine as part of a Mercy Corps fact finding trip. Recently, I wrote up my thoughts about it.
Turkey, March 2006
About 3 years ago, I noticed that a solar eclipse of the sun was going to happen in Turkey, 29 March 2006. I realized that date put it right between friend Greg's 60th birthday (25 March), and Lee's 60th birthday (30 March). How cosmic! We all quickly realized that we had to be there, so we made a date. Time has a way of marching by, and before we knew it, it was time to buy tickets and off we went.
